Registration
Students register for courses at the first class meeting. Students should plan to arrive at the first class a bit early in order to register.
Fees
The fee for each 5-week course is $60; 10 week classes are $120 (exceptions noted in course descriptions). The Center can accept only checks or cash for payment of course fees. Partial registration by special arrangement only.
Location
All classes meet in the Merlino Arts Center, 6th and Fawcett, Loft 8 (Tacoma). Because this is a secure building, we ask that new students email us at list@tacomataichi.org with your phone number. We will call you with entry instructions.
Instructors
Lily Qin is the Master Teacher for the Center. She brought the TaiChi and Qigong Wellness Center into being over ten years ago when she was a Visiting Scholar at Pacific Lutheran University, a faculty member at Sichuan University in Chengdu, and a physician at Chong Zhou City Hospital in China. She has had extensive experience and formal training in China in Sports Medicine and Chinese Medicine, specializing in Sports Injury Rehabilitation and Holistic Healing. She has studied for years with Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong masters in China, and has taught Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong both in China and the United States, with the experience of treating stress-related illness and promoting healthy life style changes through exercises and self care.
Dianne Frothingham, Vern Hansen, Sid Olufs, Bryan Smith, Carrie Washburn, and Robert Yamashita are certified by Master Lily Qin and have studied with her for a number of years. They are trained in standard Chinese Tai Chi Chuan and in the Original Yang Style long form.
